Super Carly – Cape for Kids
For my nephew Corbin’s birthday in April, I made him a monkey cape. I also started a small sibling battle because little sister Carly wanted one for herself.
Never fear, Carly. Super Aunty is here! It took awhile to find fabric I liked for her but I finally found this cute pink and green butterfly flannel at Joann’s and it was perfect for an adorable little girl’s cape.
Corbin’s cape got a “C” on the back. For Carly’s, I wanted to use one of the larger butterflies from the print.
And here’s Carly wearing her cape. She seemed pleased with it. I made it a little smaller than Corbin’s but both will still serve as blankies if they want to snuggle with them. Plus, they’re only allowed to run in the house if they’re “super” and have their capes on. I may have peaked early because I’m not sure if I can ever top capes as gifts!
P.S. I have a similar cape available in my Etsy shop if you’re interested!

So cute…great fabric!!
Thanks – my sister liked that the green made it a little less girly-girl. I mean, as “less girly-girl” as it can be considering it’s pink and butterflies!
I love the capes! The one I bought from your shop is awesome and Ian just adores it. He spent the whole night running back and forth down the hallway, cape flying behind him.
So glad Ian’s having fun with his cape!
